We Americans got rid of kings, queens, princes, dukes, earls, counts, lords, and all those other noxious vestiges of feudalism in 1776, and it’s long past time the Brits did likewise.
True, today’s royal family is little more than a tourist attraction. As such, its members should be confined in a museum where people can gawk at them and rejoice at humankind’s rising from subservience to their like.
